Sydney Showground was full-of-life this September as ‘brides-to-be’ filled its halls for the first time since February 2020 to attend the first COVID-safe Sydney’s Annual Wedding Expo, held on Sunday 27th of September.
With increased space, aisles double the size, single entry and exit points, and of course COVID-19 Safe Hygiene Marshals, Sydney Showground and Wedding Expos Australia managed to pull off a successful and safe event; welcoming over 1500 guests and working within the current guidelines.
Wedding Expos Australia’s Event Manager, Deborah Bilson said the event was a triumph and proves that with the right planning and precautions you can deliver great events in the current climate.
“The exhibition was a success and displayed positive progress to operate events again in a new world,” Deborah Bilson said.
“We showcased 100 bridal exhibitors and checked in over 1600 visitors throughout a five-hour time period. On behalf of the team, we thank everyone who supported the event.”
Sydney Showground Head of Sales, Andrew Roberts says Sydney’s Annual Wedding Expo has a long tradition at Sydney Showground and to welcome it back in 2020 was a breath of fresh air for the event organisation.
“It has been such a difficult time in the Australian event industry, so to run an expo at our site for the first time in over 8 months and prove that we can still deliver safe and successful events within the current guidelines is a great achievement,” Andrew Roberts said.
Sydney Showground recently announced a COVID support package for event organisers and businesses looking for extra security when organising events in 2020.
