Hi and welcome to the latest edition of Eventful Thinking - the newsletter of Sydney Showground. This newsletter aims to keep you up-to-date with the latest developments, promotions, and some of the recent and upcoming events at Sydney Showground.

We’ve certainly had a wide range of events taking place here over the past few months. Highlights have included the White Party, the Papercraft Festival, Meguiar’s Motorex, the General Practitioner Conference and Exhibition, as well as several banquets and cocktail functions to celebrate the State of Origin. Our clients have really been making the most of Sydney Showground’s diverse venues.

VENUE PROFILE - THE BADGERY PAVILION

Sydney Showground is celebrating the $1 million refurbishment of its 1000-seat Badgery Pavilion.
The recently completed venue upgrade includes brand new carpet and furnishings, state-of-the-art air-conditioning, and the capacity to stage complex entertainment.
Later this month the refurbished venue will officially launch as the Western Sydney Business Connection presents the 2007 State of the Region Address for Western Sydney. The Hon Morris Iemma, Premier of NSW, will speak to guests about strategies impacting on Western Sydney. Sydney Showground is proud to support this event. For more information visit www.wsbc.org.au.

WINNERS ANNOUNCED
Congratulations to the latest winners of the Sydney Showground competition. STATE OF ORIGIN

When New South Wales took on Queensland in the State of Origin in June, Sydney Showground was the place to be for pre and post match functions.
Four of our venues catered to four very different corporate events. From a three-course banquet for 50 guests in 1822, to a glamorous gold bar function for 750 in the Dome (pictured), all four events made the most of Sydney Showground’s diverse venues and award-winning catering.
THE WHITE PARTY

On Queen’s birthday weekend in June, the Dome at Sydney Showground was transformed into a light and music spectacular as thousands of revellers dressed in white came to experience one of the world’s biggest DJs, Armin Van Buuren.
The crowd was transformed to another world with visual performers, sophisticated sound and video production, and stunning décor.
The Dome is the centrepiece of Sydney Showground. Its amazing structure provides an architecturally dynamic backdrop for any event.
AIMEX RETURNS IN SEPTEMEBR
Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition, four years in the making, returns to Sydney Showground from 4-7 September.
AIMEX is Sydney’s internationally-recognised platform for Australian and overseas suppliers to showcase their mining technology, equipment and services.
Australia’s mining technology services industry is acknowledged as a world leader in providing innovative products and technical solutions to both the domestic and international minerals industries.
John Gorton from Reed Exhibitions says that, "Sydney Showground is Reed Exhibitions’ chosen venue for our flagship exhibition AIMEX because the venue offers an unparalleled combination of inside and outside space along with the associated infrastructure required for this major international trade fair."
