A MESSAGE FROM KAREN BOLINGER

Welcome to the latest edition of eventful thinking.

Sydney Showground has once again staged a successful Sydney Royal Easter Show, the Southern Hemisphere's largest annual celebration. This year close to 900,000 families, couples and groups of people of all ages, walked through the Sydney Royal Easter Show doors to experience a day full of live performances, the best of Australian agriculture, exhibits, rides and show bags.

We promised this would be our best show yet, and according to our ticket numbers and the feedback received so far, the Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) has once again staged a successful show with 14,000 animals, 5,000 art exhibits and over 15,000 trophies, certificates and medals awarded in the Sydney Royal competitions.

This year we expanded on the number of food outlets and bars on offer with 11 bars, plus 17 cafes, restaurants and takeaway outlets. To date the biggest selling beverages are soft drinks with over 50,000 sold to wash down the 58,000 meat pies consumed. The ever popular treats were once again a hit, with Showgoers consuming 109,000 dagwood dogs, 32,000 cheese on sticks and 34,500 Country Women's Association scones.

The Racing and Diving Pigs were extremely popular and the Psycho Sideshow again proved to be a huge hit with families. The story of True Blue was the main feature show of NAB Arena each night with 231,000 spectators coming to see it along with Xtreme Korruption and the Dairy Farmers Fireworks and Laser Finale.

I hope you got to spend some time at the Show with your family and friends. As the biggest annual event of the Royal Agricultural Society comes to a close, it is now time to look forward to accommodating your needs throughout the rest of the year. As you see we can run events of any scale and are looking forward to working with you to make your event a success.
