Aiming to Connect With You
The new decade has got off to a positive start for the Sydney Showground with strong inquiry levels in January and February and a number of new event contracts in play – particularly in the exhibition sector. This seems to be due to a cautious return in business confidence which is stimulating a renewed focus on sales and business development events. The outlook is certainly more positive than in 2009.
AIME 2010: As a business we ourselves are also working hard to connect with our clients by increasing participation in business events. Next month a Showground team is attending the AsiaPacific Incentives and Meeting Expo (AIME) in Melbourne. The event is expected to attract more than 3000 industry suppliers and buyers from 50 countries. Our focus will be to launch our new brochure and conference packages, which have been structured around bringing more value and flexibility to venue and meal options.
SOPA Collaboration: Another initiative this year has been joining with our colleagues from Sydney Olympic Park to showcase the precinct in an extremely compelling way. The Showground is very aligned with Sydney Olympic Park in promoting the advantages of our location – the clean, open and spacious natural environment, central Sydney location and easy access. Of course we’ve also got some of the most experienced, knowledgeable and creative event organisers in Sydney.
New Event Space: In 2010 we are also unveiling some new developments at the Showground - the latest of these is the upgrade to our corporate headquarters to introduce a new flexible event space which includes bar, café and lounge, display areas and two meeting rooms. The area gives us great new options to offer our clients for smaller corporate events within a light and contemporary space.
Finally I’d like to recommend that you take some time to read some of our latest case histories, links to which we’ve included in this newsletter. Every event has its challenges - but the logistical and creative solutions we employed in solving issues for iconic truck company Mack Trucks and the Football Federation of Australia make for great reading.
Happy Easter to all
