A new face for Sydney Showground

I’d like you to meet Zoe. This fictional young woman is the centrepiece of Sydney Showground’s current advertising campaign (shown here). The concept promoted a recent industry event where PAs were the guests, courtesy of Sydney Showground and Executive PA Reader Magazine.
Appearing in various marketing collateral, from publications to postcards, Zoe assumes the guise of a successful and ambitious PA in charge of organising corporate events. Her quest is to find a flexible venue which offers a unique experience, elevating the annual conference, cocktail party or teambuilding day to another level – and earning her a promotion!
Behind the concept, we hope Zoe’s persona captures elements of Sydney Showground and the staff who work here. This is a young venue with dedicated professionals who collaborate with you in a true partnership. We believe this approach delivers the best event experience, and helps our clients meet their business goals. Put simply, ‘your vision, our venue’.
As we rapidly near the festive season, time is running out for planning the office Christmas party. We have ‘last minute’ packages for consideration, and for the food enthusiast, our Executive Chef, Tim Browne, puts a mouth-watering twist on the traditional Christmas turkey.

Event Planning Tips from Sydney Showground Staff
Planning an event? We eavesdropped on a chat between Senior Manager Event Operations, Bernie Serone, and Event Planner, Shannon Hocking as they were discussing their experiences of planning events such as The Big Day Out, and thought we'd share their ‘insider’ tips.
Shannon says "My number one tip is to plan early. Submit your event plans as early as possible to ensure the planning and approval process is completed with plenty of time to spare.
It's also very important to set a realistic budget for your event and have a contingency plan in place, for peace of mind."
Bernie agrees, but adds "Providing a thorough brief is critical as it allows us to match the most appropriate venue for your event, and give accurate costings, avoiding any unexpected surprises." Bernie says "Conducting a site inspection is also incredibly valuable, so you can gauge the advantages, limitations and options available."
Shannon and Bernie both agree:
"We can help streamline the event planning process by liaising with the various organisations and suppliers involved, and develop valuable working relationships to ensure your event is an outstanding success."

Dairy Product Launch
One of Australia’s major manufacturers of dairy products, chose Sydney Showground to launch a new coffee-flavoured milk product when the initial venue fell through. With a lead time of just 1.5 weeks, Sydney Showground worked with the client to deliver a launch to sales representatives, adopting an industrial theme that reflected the product’s sales focus on worksites.
Held in the Howie pavilion, the 100 attendees arrived for breakfast on the front lawn, where they encountered crash barriers, black-and-yellow emergency taping, race car simulators, and a shipping container transformed into a mini-cinema. Demonstrations trained attendees on point-of-sale display, and product distribution. Sydney Showground also worked closely with the client to deliver a breakfast and lunch menu in keeping with the industrial theme.
