Sydney Showground’s dynamic calendar continues - Here comes Supanova

Posted on : 13 June 2018

Of all the events that pack the Sydney Showground exhibition halls across the calendar year (sometimes three at any given time) there are few more colourful and quirky than the Supanova Comic Con and Gaming Expo.

The exit gates of Sydney Olympic Park train station are a sight to behold as Comic, Superhero and Gaming devotees swarm into Sydney Showground in any manner of  costumes for the annual three day event.

Supanova 2018 will be held from this Friday, June 15 until Sunday June 17 in The Dome and neighbouring exhibition halls.

Supanova always attracts a star-studded line-up of guests and this year is no exception..

They will include Stephen Amell of “Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow” fame, ageless action movie legend Chuck Norris and Summer Glau (Arrow, Serenity, Firefly, Terminator and the Sarah Connor Chronicles) as well as many more international and Australian entertainment names.

Supanova’s list of 2018 guests can be found here;

Supanova has a long association with Sydney Showground and this year is the 14th at the Sydney Olympic park site.

Sydney Showground General Manager Peter Thorpe says it’s a good fit for both parties;

“Sydney Showground has proven itself to be easily accessible and the facilities we have here are second to none when it comes to exhibition space and catering”.

“Supanova has been a longtime and welcome client of Sydney Showground and the fact the promoters and clients keep coming back each year is proof they like what we can provide for them.”

“We welcome Supanova back in 2018,” Peter Thorpe said.

Supanova is the biggest event of its type in Australia and Sydney is the biggest expo of them all.

Hosting such a large event demonstrates the dynamic capabilities Sydney Showground has to offer with an expected crowd of 50,000 across the three days of the event.
