Getting to Sydney Showground

Sydney Olympic Park is easily approached by road, with the M4, Victoria Road and Parramatta Road in close proximity.

Free parking
For short visits there are 2-hour free-parking spaces located on Grand Parade, Olympic Boulevard and Dawn Fraser Avenue.

Casual parking
Sydney Olympic Park has over 10,000 parking spaces site-wide. Carparks P1, P5 and P6 are in close proximity to Sydney Showground. Costs: $7 per hour, up to a maximum fee of $35 per day.

We recommend you pre-book parking if you plan to visit Sydney Showground on the day of a major event. Cost is $35 per car for the day. This cost is for one entry and exit into your selected car park.

Conveniently serviced by bus, train and ferry services, the site was purpose built for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games and has been designed to cope effortlessly with high volumes of visitors.

By train
Olympic Park train station is on Sydney Showground's doorstep. The Sprint service, operated by CityRail, travels between Lidcombe and Olympic Park Stations daily, every 10 minutes.

A limited number of direct services also operate between Central Station and Olympic Park Station on weekday afternoons and for some major events. To plan your trip and get the latest travel information visit

By bus
Sydney Buses operate direct bus services to Sydney Olympic Park from a number of locations including Lidcombe, Strathfield and Parramatta.

By ferry
Sydney Ferries run a daily service between Circular Quay and Parramatta stopping at Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf. To travel to Sydney Showground, visitors must also catch a connecting bus.

Sydney Airport is approximately 20km from Sydney Olympic Park and is easily accessible by all modes of transport.

With the opening of the new M4 to M8 WestConnex tunnel, travel times from
Sydney Airport to Sydney Showground have been reduced by 11 minutes with
journey times from 20 minutes.

There is an array of easily accessible public transport options to Sydney Olympic Park but it's just as easy to drive to the venue.

With the new M4 tunnel between Sydney Olympic Park/ Homebush to Haberfield now open, up to 20 minutes can be slashed off a trip from the Sydney CBD to Sydney Olympic Park. From bypassing 22 sets of traffic lights, getting to Olympic Park has never been easier!
