King of Mandopop, Jay Chou, announces his concert return to Sydney!

Posted on 6th October 2023

Sydney Showground is set to extend its summer music season with yesterday’s announcement that Mandopop sensation, Jay Chou, will be returning to GIANTS Stadium for one night only on 02 March 2024.

Following the success of Chou’s sold out 2023 tour, the Jay Chou Carnival World Tour 2024 will dive into a carnival theme featuring spectacular visual effects, allowing fans to embark on a multi-sensory journey.

The megastar is set to perform up to 40 songs, from well-loved classics to new hits, while also showcasing his talent on the piano, guzheng and other instruments.

As the venue continues to be a number one choice for music events and festivals in Australia, Sydney Showground General Manager, Darryl Jeffrey, says the team are excited to host this global superstar for the second year running.

“This year’s event was a phenomenal success, and we look forward to playing a part in bringing another fantastic experience to next year’s concert attendees”, Darryl Jeffrey said.

“We are proud to host a wide range of music events at Sydney Showground, catering to musical tastes from dance to country, to Chinese contemporary music. This announcement adds to the stellar line-up of diverse events already announced for GIANTS Stadium and Sydney Showground through the summer period.”

Tickets for the 2024 World Tour will go on sale on Thursday, 26 October 2023, and can be purchased from the Ticketek website. Due to popular demand, this year’s World Tour will also see Chou make his debut concert appearance in Melbourne.

Jay Chou’s influence on the global music scene has seen him rank in the IFPI Global Top 10 Artiste List as well as the IFPI Global Top 10 Album Sales list, where his album ‘The Greatest Works’ took the top spot in 2022, setting a record for a Chinese-language album on this list.
