Sydney Showground celebrates a big week of live music with Fridayz Live and Flume
Sydney Showground have rounded out an epic week after hosting two of Sydney’s hottest music events, Fridayz Live and Flume - Palaces World Tour, proving the venue’s unique versatility to elevate live event experiences.
Celebrating its comeback after a two-year hiatus, Fridayz Live returned to Sydney Showground on Saturday 12 November in spectacular fashion. Presented by Frontier and Illusive Presents, the event saw 28,000 festivalgoers descend on the Showground ready for a night of music nostalgia.
Featuring a star-studded line up including Macklemore, TLC, and Akon, Fridayz Live delivered an incredible event, filling GIANTS Stadium with the sounds of hip-hop, RNB and party tracks from the 90s to now, and entertaining fans across multiple generations.
Just six days later, The Dome at Sydney Showground provided the perfect space for Flume’s Palaces World Tour, presented by Frontier, Chugg Entertainment, and Laneway Presents. Just under 10,000 fans flooded through the doors to experience the internationally renowned DJ and musician perform in his hometown.
Sydney Showground Director of Sales and Marketing, Andrew Roberts, says the success of these events cements Sydney Showground’s status as a leading event space for live events.
“Having two massive events, just six days apart, in two different venue spaces, really demonstrates the versatility of Sydney Showground as an event space, and the capability of the team to deliver back-to-back events”, Andrew Roberts said.
“The buzz across Sydney Showground this past week has been incredible. After an uncertain couple of years, it’s exciting to be back in full swing and to welcome in an even busier summer season".
The year is far from over as Sydney Showground now prepares to host two of Australia’s leading EDM festivals, Festival X and EPIK, as back-to-back events in December, before ushering in the new year with St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival.
